Notice is hereby given that the Board of Police Commissioners of the City of Chester, Illinois, will be accepting written applications for employment as a Full Time Police Officer for the City of Chester, Illinois.
Applications can also be obtained at City hall.
Applications must be completed and on file with the Mayor’s Office no later than 4:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2023. The Mayor’s Office is located at 1330 Swanwick Street, Chester, Illinois, 62233. The City of Chester Board of Police Commissioners will schedule the written examination for the position of Chester Police Officer at Chester City Hall, located at 1330 Swanwick Street, Chester, Illinois, 62233.
Applicants must be c citizen of the United States, possess a valid driver’s license, and have no felony convictions and certain misdemeanor convictions. Applicants must reside within the Chester Community School District No. 139 boundaries, which lie east of the Mississippi River. Applicants must also submit to an extensive background investigation. Minimum eligibility includes a high school diploma or GED.
