Riverboat Stops in Chester

The American Queen

For the last couple of years Riverboats have been regularly docking at the Chester riverfront.  The American Queen, the Queen of the Mississippi, American Duchess and the America are all scheduled again for summer 2020.    (See docking dates below.)  Tours are arranged through the City of Chester Recreation Department with the help of local volunteer tour guides which escort passengers to explore the city, shop, enjoy the Popeye & Friends Character Trail, Riverboat Market and learn about the history of our area.

The City of Chester Beautification/Tourism Commission and Parks & Recreation Department is now offering passengers the opportunity to purchase a variety of wonderful art and hand crafted items, as well as farmer’s market items, at the “Riverboat Market”  The “Riverboat Market” is only held on days that the riverboats are scheduled to dock and will be set up at the Chester Square Gazebo Park (Intersection of State Street and Opdyke Street).  All exhibitors must register by the deadline and be accepted by the Riverboat Market Committee.  If interested in appearing at the “Riverboat Market” please click on the following links to learn more.  Keep in mind riverboat stops are subject to change quickly.  Contact Patti at 618-826-1430 to check on stops.
