New Chester Welcome Center
Chester was awarded an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program Grant for $385,620.00 from the Illinois Department of Transportation to construct a new Welcome Center. The center is located in Segar Park next to the Chester Bridge overlooking the Mississippi River. The new Welcome Center will be staffed with volunteers and contains restrooms, information center with displays and a scenic overlook.
The Chester Chamber of Commerce will have their office in the Welcome Center. Grand Opening is being planned for Spring/Summer of 2010.
