Operation Teen Safe Driving

CHS is involved in a three-month safe driving campaign titled, "Operation Teen Safe Driving".

The December portion of the program was geared at creating awareness related to driving and alcohol.

Remember DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE and DO NOT RIDE WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN DRINKING AND DRIVING.

YOU RIDE; YOU DECIDE.....IT'S A MATTER OF CHOICE.

 Please make the right choice!

Safe Driving Messages

Alcohol is one of the biggest problems that State Troopers face related to vehicle crashes.  Please do not drink and drive or ride with anyone who has been drinking.  Road fatalities for State Police District 13 are down for 2009 so far.  The current number is 950 compared to 1,042 last year.  Let's keep the number of traffic fatalities DOWN this year for 2010.  Please don't drink and drive.

Traffic crashes continue to be the No. 1 killer of teens in America.  Please be safe.

On the average someone in the US is killed by a drunk driver every 40 minutes.  Tonight three people will lose their lives due to traffic accidents.  Don't become a statistic.   Drive carefully on you way home.

ALSO, nearly 75% of drunk drivers involved in fatal collisions are NOT wearing their seat belts.  PLEASE BUCKLE UP!

In Illinois, teen alcohol-related deaths decreased 40% in 2008 compared to 2007.  In Illinois we are making a difference!  Please help us reduce this number even more significantly in 2009 and 2010.

REMEMBER.....YOU RIDE, YOU DECIDE....IT'S A MATTER OF CHOICE!
