Realizing a vibrant and healthy main street district attracts residents and promotes investment, the Chester Chamber of Commerce initiated discussions with the City of Chester officials and Chester Beautification Commission regarding the main street district. All agreed the condition of a community's main street shapes the community's image and signals it's desirability as a place to live, work, play and invest. From these discussions, the River City Main Street Project was developed.
The main objective of the River City Main Street Project is to build community support for the creation of a more appealing main street environment, which in turn will attract the pedestrian activity and commercial investment necessary to support the Chester main Streets. back to top
